Vera Mironova is a Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow jointly with the Belfer Center’s International Security Program and the Women and Public Policy Program; and a PhD candidate in the Political Science Department at the University of Maryland. Her research explores individual level behavior in conflict environments. She is interested in how violence affects individual attitudes and decision making. Her academic papers have been published in the American Economics Journal: Applied Economics, Journal of Experimental Political Science, British Journal of Political Science and Journal of Conflict Resolution. Her writings and commentaries have also appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, the Washington Post, the New Republic and the National Interest, among others.
